  • What is the stage of companies presenting?
    Companies that apply to Keiretsu Forum are typically in the growth/pre-Series A stage with health revenue traction. Companies that are pre-revenue are typically not a prior with us as the startups ability to execute is equally as important as their idea. These companies would have typically raised a friends and family round and are looking for investors to begin scaling path towards their series A We typically do not invest in pre-seed/idea stage companies. Exceptions are when they have an MVP ready to launch immediately with a very clear path to profitability in the next 6-12 months.
  • What are the sectors you generally look at?
    Our investments are sector-agnostic. Forum members invest in high-quality, diverse investment opportunities in emerging technologies, life science/healthcare, clean technology, consumer goods, aerospace, food tech, real estate and any other segment with high growth opportunity.
  • What is your Investment Criteria
    A real problem and a clear and easy-to-understand solution for which customers are willing to pay. Sustainable and recurring revenue. Reasonable operating margins to be able to run a viable business. A large-enough and compelling market that can facilitate a viable business. Sustainable competitive advantage Experienced and driven management team with mix of technology skills and the knack for execution. Proprietary products or channels of distribution with significant early-mover advantage/ network effects/large-enough market that can accommodate multiple successful players. A clear path to profitability. Credible exit options for investors. We typically focus our efforts on companies that have started showing traction through market validation.
  • What is the selection process for companies that present to the Keiretsu Forum?
    Send us a pitch deck and executive summary. Pre-screening by Keiretsu team to discuss terms and sign application document. Appear for Keiretsu deal screening (45 mins to 1 hr). If selected after screening, pay the platform fee and start working with the Keiretsu team to fine-tune the pitch to a 10-minute presentation. Make investment pitch at monthly Keiretsu Forum meetings. Only three companies are showcased at each monthly meeting. Deep Dive call with investors who have shown interest after the initial investor pitch. Further Due Diligence where required takes 2-3 weeks depending on the venture’s industry and stage. We aim to close our funding rounds within a month from the pitch. Keiretsu Members collaborate in the due diligence process.
  • What are the Keiretsu meetings like?
    During a Keiretsu Meeting there are often 3 companies pitching to a panel of keiretsu angels members virtually. The Pitch consists of - 10-minutes pitch 10-minutes Q&A session 5 minute mind share session. Here Keiretsu members discuss their thoughts internally after the founder moved out of the room. Founders can attend the call to the see the other pitches made on the same meeting.
  • When will we know whether our company has been selected to present at the Forum?
    We will follow up withing 3-5 working days from the keiretsu team screening.
  • What materials do we need for the Forum?
    We require your investor pitch deck and executive summary with financial figures and estimates. Additional information such as audited financials of the previous year would be requested based on the specific requirement.
  • How long are the presentations?
    10-minute core presentation deck 10-minute Q&A by Keiretsu Forum investors 3-5 minute Mindshare between investors after the found has been temporarily move out of the room
  • How large are the investment rounds?
    Keiretsu Forum does not recommend deals or invest as a fund. It is a network facilitating deal discovery and validation. Members invest individually directly in the company. Keiretsu funding typically varies from INR 50 Lakhs to INR 3 Crores in for the first round of funding. Subsequent rounds in existing portfolio companies, range up to 10Crores over though multiple rounds of funding. Individual members have a minimum investment size of INR 10 Lakhs, with the average individual cheque size being 25 Lakhs.
  • How many companies that presented to the Forum have achieved funding directly from Keiretsu Delhi Bangalore activities?
    Investment interest that companies receive depends on the specific company, industry, management, stage and other factors. What we've been able to see from past presentations is that there are 5-7 companies that present at the deal screening, 3 of them are selected to come to the full Keiretsu Forum meeting and 1-2 of them receive investment traction from the Keiretsu Forum members. Investment traction for each meeting differs across chapters.
